The Area

Columbus is the economic, educational, and cultural center of the West Georgia and East Alabama region.  Located on the Chattahoochee River, Columbus is approximately 100 miles southwest of Atlanta, Georgia.  Since 1998, the city has invested nearly $3 billion in capital projects and 40,000 new jobs.  The centerpiece of Columbus’ renaissance has been its innovative public/private partnership that has resulted in the fast-tracking of a number of projects included the RiverCenter for Performing Arts and the revitalization of the downtown area.

The Columbus, Georgia MSA is comprised of five counties with a median income of $37,690 and over 282,000 people.  Columbus is a virtually untapped source of eligible respondents for marketing research.  The Columbus Metro Trade Area covers 13 Georgia counties and 3 Alabama Counties.  Over 586,000 people live in the 16 county region with a buying income of well over $6 billion.  Columbus is ideally located for both urban and rural studies.
